the way of the weekend...

Friday was phone extravaganza day...
Saturday we went in the morning to a local elementary school to help with a missions project. Then we watched both games (and by both i mean the Auburn & Alabama games.)

Sunday we went to church, then headed over to my grandparents house to celebrate mom's birthday.  I will let the pictures speak for themselves...
Leslie (my sister) & Bradford
Bradford, Linds, Mom & Leslie
mom blowing out her candles

ok this is a "typical picture" of us
...daniel makes me laugh (or tickles me) and then i end up not even looking at the camera!
the newlyweds
(kind of weird because daniel and I are no longer the "newlyweds"...we are just the old married couple now.  Who would have thought?)
we definitely love our dad but he deeply despises pictures!
my sweet hubby :)
Wednesday will be my last day at work...kind of frightening since it's all I've known for the past 2 years.
We are happy for our dear friends Rhett & Valerie and want to congratulate them on their recent engagement...looking forward to their big day!!!
well i think that is it for now.

Happy Birthday MOM!

I am almost in tears right now because I feel like the WORST daughter in the world. I completely forgot to call and wish my mom a happy birthday today.  In fact I didn't remember until she called me (at 7:30pm) to tell me something unrelated! Ugh! How sad am i.  I will say we had an eventful day...running the bleachers for exercise, changing oil & the battery in the car and then the BIG uh-oh.  You see my dear husband was changing the oil in our car (because he says it's cheaper or something) and left his cell phone on the top of the car.  Then he told me he was headed to Advanced Auto Parts to get a new battery.  Cool...until he got home, came inside and sat down and said (and i quote) "Baby, I did something really bad!" Ok girls, when your husband says that...well I didn't know what to think.  I said "did you get in a wreck", "are you Ok"...and so on.  Then he proceeded to explained that his cell phone was in a million pieces on the side of a BUSY road. "OOO i see" i said.  We immediately scrambled to figure out what we were gonna do...and to make a long story short, Daniel got a new phone...and an iphone i might add.  it's pretty sweet and i can't get him off of it already!

Anyway going back to what this WHOLE post is about...my MOM.  Today is her birthday!  This lady is amazing.  The best mom (well i am a lil bias).  She is always there for me...always loving me no matter what i do.  Mom...hears to you! I love you and hope you have a VERY happy birthday.  She went shopping today i know :) and Dad is taking her to the beach either next weekend or the one after that!  Oh and daniel says happy birthday too!
ok that's all...i'm off to bed cause we have a long day tomorrow!
peace

bowling fun

Daniel and I have been praying for ways to get connected in our church...especially with people our age, and God has begun to open those doors...it is sooo exciting! Let me explain...since i worked in the children's area every Sunday, we were limited to interaction with other couples in the same phase of life as us. Now that i am part-time, i don't have to be in the children's area anymore, so we have been thrilled to get to know couples in our community group. Last night we had a fun night BOWLING!

the whole gang!
Kevin & Leann
Josh & Lauren

us :)

and our first preggo couple in the group (16 weeks) Jake & Alana :)

We had so much fun and look forward to more opportunities to share with them!

On another note...we leave for Colorado 2 weeks from TOMORROW! We're pretty excited.

my handy husband...

I am sitting here enjoying When Harry Met Sally (which is a good movie) and i look over to see my sweet husband doing this...
that's right!  he is sewing our bed sheet because it got a small rip a while back and we have just forgotten to fix it.  What a sweetheart he is to do that...and so handy :) Oh and sorry the picture is bad...our camera battery is dead so i took a picture (as quick as I could) with the camera on our computer.

on another note...if you want to see our future niece or nephew just click here!

one more thing.  fall will be here on the 21st of September. i can't wait. i love the cool air fall brings.

ok back to my movie.

i guess it's time...

for another update...for all those who actually read.
This weekend my brother & linds got married...yay! They are now enjoying themselves in beautiful Jamaica.
So here is Mr. & Mrs. Shaffer Hewlett

and my favorite picture of the day...
They rode away in the cutest carriage!
Lets see what else...Oh yeah Daniel and I found out today that on April 29th we will become an aunt & uncle.  Daniel's brother (Andrew) and his wife (Jen-Yu) are expecting their first little one :)

I have 3 weeks of work left...yikes!

One of my dear friends Brooke is moving to Colorado in a week...i'm trying not to cry!

Brooke, Leslie (my sis), Lindsey (sis-in-law) & me

Oh and i have a FUNNY story to tell...so like i said my brother got married this past weekend and we hit the moment in the ceremony when everyone was in their place waiting for the bride to walk in.  Let me interject that the ring bearer and flower girl were both standing on stage doing so well.  The flower girl is 2 years old and soo precious (and so is her family!)
So getting back to the story...we were all in place...and in that moment when all was quiet in the chapel, the flower girl just all the sudden says (were everyone could hear...because it was so quiet) "i done"...and walked off stage to sit with her mommy and daddy.  It was one of those priceless moments you won't ever forget.  Every single person in the room giggled.  I thought i was going to loose it standing on stage, but i managed to keep it together (some how :)).  Anyway it was so cute, and i was sad Lindsey had to miss it, but she was waiting to walk in.
She was a beautiful, very petite bride.  I must say it is a little strange to see a ring on my brothers finger...but I'm sure i will get use to it just like i got use to daniel's.

well...i guess that is it for now.

i heart my family

i love my family and i love the fact that it is growing! :) we started out as a family of five...

(i know it is a really old picture and not so attractive...) And have added on!

And we get to add again...this weekend i will gain a precious sister-in-law who is actually one of my best friends!  What could be better?  I can't wait to call her my sister.  Shaffer and Lindsey will be united in marriage on Saturday!  I will leave you with a beautiful picture taken of them recently

to catch YOU up...

my blogs have not been consistent lately for a lot of different reasons...but i won't bore you with those.  I just thought to catch you up with all that has been going on around here...and the lack there of!
1. I went part-time mid July, but ever since i have been more busy than before!  You see i have this problem with over committing.  Instead of giving myself a break, i just jumped right into another job.  Knowing that we need the money...i couldn't say no.  So on the days that i don't work at the church, i am babysitting except Fridays.  i try to use Fridays as our day for missions stuff.
2. Daniel is still doing part-time photography work and has had to travel a couple of times over night (which is sad) but i make it!
3. Madie has begun running with us 6 days a week, so she mostly sleeps when she's not eating!
4. We sold our Wii to a dear friend who i know uses it much more than we did.  You see we needed the $ and realized we NEVER play it.  So instead of letting it sit there and collect dust, we sold it :)  For full price i might add!
5. I went to the beach last weekend, which was so nice and peaceful...until we had to evacuate because the hurricane.
6. My brother is getting married this weekend and I can't wait.  Both Daniel and I are in the wedding, & we get to stand by each other!!! YAY!
7. We have made some sweet friends in our community group (for all those who don't know what that is, it is Sunday school. Our church just calls it something else).  Yesterday we had lunch with one of the couples in our group (who is expecting their first child and she has the little preggo bump which is too cute...she's at 13 weeks & looks great!)  God has truly blessed us through this group.
8. We went hiking yesterday with some other sweet friends...loved it!
9. The euro continues to fall which is such a blessing for us! :)
10. Daniel and I have both been reading a lot.  He is trying to make it through the whole Bible before we leave for Colorado in less than 5 weeks now, and i have had my nose in Redeeming Love (for my own reading) and Bad Girls of the Bible (for a bible study I am in).  One reason for the lack of blogs!
and lastly...
11. We are still praying that our support will come in so that we can depart from the states in March!
(oh and one more thing...i am totally disappointed in all you Auburn fans out there that read this blog for not commenting on the last post! :( )
well i guess that's it for now.

an adventure...

Exactly 5 weeks from today daniel and i will embark on an adventure that will take us 1,370 miles away from home!  We are excited to see how the Lord will grow and stretch us while we are out of our comfort zone for 6 weeks!  We also get to see lots of friends and catch up on their lives!  If you think about us, pray that our time will be fruitful and pray for rest as we have a 3 week long training session followed by a 2 week long one!
the only part about our whole trip that I am not to terribly excited about is leaving family and family here & this precious pup (and i know daniel will miss her too)!

well that's all for now.
